June Congressional Forum tickets will be honored at a future Congressional Forum. Thank you.\n\n\n\nThe Congressional Forum is a 54 year institution\, and the Chamber's public policy series\, which features local\, state\, and federal representatives to speak about issues relevant to the area's business community.\n\n\n\nRepresentative Sharice Davids speaks to the group as often as she can\, but other guest speakers are often featured at the monthly forums. \n\n\n\nThis month's featured speaker is Kansas Secretary of Labor Amber Schulz.\n\n\n\nAbout Schulz:\n\nAmber Shultz is the current Kansas secretary of labor. Gov. Laura Kelly appointed Shultz to the position on January 29\, 2021\, to replace Acting Secretary Brett Flachsbarth. She served in an acting capacity until the Kansas State Senate confirmed her appointment on March 31\, 2021.\n\n\n\nAmber Shultz earned a bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from the University of Kansas. Shultz's career experience includes working as the general manager of the Municipal Services & Operations Department for the City of Lawrence\, as the deputy director of public works and a technical support division manager for the City of Topeka\, Kansas\, and as an assistant IT director and a GIS developer with Jackson County\, Missouri.
