DESCRIPTION:The KCK Chamber is excited to present Chamber Focus: "Doing Business with KCKPS." \n\n\n\nBrian Hernandez\, Assistant Director of Purchasing for the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools\, will educate Chamber Members on " how to do business" with the District\, particularly how to bid on contracts and build relationships with key points of contact. \n\n\n\nBrian's Bio:\n\nBrian Hernandez is recognized and rewarded professional\, trusted as a problem solver and collaborative business leader\, a true minority mentor valued for helping maximize efficiency and overcome growth-oriented obstacles. Brian is adept at overseeing and driving the development of new market relationships\, supply chains and strategic partnerships. He is focused on ensuring all process-oriented and purchasing best practices are communicated\, followed\, and documented. Consistently demonstrates a passion for evaluating business needs\, generating applicable yet creative solutions\, and spearheading compliance with all standards. \n\n\n\nBrian is the Assistant Director of Purchasing for the Kansas City Kansas School District.  After spending almost two decades with the City of Kansas City Missouri in the Human Relations Department taking the lead in M/WBE certifications\, M/WBE goal setting\, and contract compliance then transitioning to Procurement Services Division to be the city's Supplier Relations Coordinator. In that role Brian handled contract management\, M/WBE goals\, vendor management\, recruit new vendors/contractors\, partnered with various construction\, minority & woman organizations and Chambers of Commerce to form & build partnerships with the business community. \n\n\n\nIn Brian's current  role as Assistant Director of Purchasing\, he continues to handle KCKPS purchasing contracts\, assist with the district's surplus program\, partners with various Chambers of Commerce & minority/woman organization in attempts to recruit/identify new vendor's for upcoming solicitations.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you to our KCK Chamber Focus Sponsors!
