DESCRIPTION:Save the date for our August Membership Luncheon that will be focused on networking with our neighbors to the south at the Shawnee Chamber and will feature a speaker relevant to our region! Past speakers have included Governor Laura Kelly\, University of Kansas Health Systems\, both KCK and Shawnee mayors\, and more.\n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce this year's speaker Kansas Secretary of Labor Amber Shultz!\n\n\n\nAbout Shultz:\n\nAmber Shultz is the current Kansas secretary of labor. Gov. Laura Kelly appointed Shultz to the position on January 29\, 2021\, to replace Acting Secretary Brett Flachsbarth. She served in an acting capacity until the Kansas State Senate confirmed her appointment on March 31\, 2021.\n\n\n\nAmber Shultz earned a bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from the University of Kansas. Shultz's career experience includes working as the general manager of the Municipal Services & Operations Department for the City of Lawrence\, as the deputy director of public works and a technical support division manager for the City of Topeka\, Kansas\, and as an assistant IT director and a GIS developer with Jackson County\, Missouri.
