First Friday Focus January 2013
You’ve probably heard about the Kansas City Startup Village (KCSV), because it’s been featured in the local and national news lately. But what is it and where is it?
Learn more about this Kansas City entrepreneur-led initiative at the KCK Area Chamber of Commerce First Friday Focus on Jan. 11. Matthew Marcus and Adam Arredondo, co founders of Local Ruckus and one of KC Startup Village’s founding companies, will tell you more about the vision to help make Kansas City a premier startup city in America.
Centered around 45th and State Line Road, allowing for proximity to Kansas and Missouri businesses, the “leaders and feeders” of the KC Startup Village are working to create a dense community of startup business. They match startups to available spaces, offer optional shared offices for reduced costs and to help network with other entrepreneurs, and provide incentives for startups with Kansas City area businesses. The KCSV is also the location of the first Homes for Hackers house and is based in Google Fiber’s first “fiberhood.”
